It took its name from the parish\u2019s guardian saint, in whose honour the church was built on ruins from the 16th century. Cernik is one of the oldest places in the municipality of \u010cavle, inhabited back in pre-history, which is evident from the remains on the top of Cernik hill from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the eastern part of the municipality of \u010cavle.
