Trail description
The signposted path “Along the Rječina” trail leads from the city of Rijeka to the source of the Rječina. Through the municipality of Jelenje it passes part of the so-called Rijeka Promenades, from the source of the Rječina to Valići and continues to Trsat. The path, about 20 kilometres long, passes along the waterway of the jewel of the Grobnik region. The trail offers the picturesque ambience of a canyon, the old Gaspar’s watermill in Martinovo Selo and spectacular views of the slopes above the canyon.
In 1985 the Rječina canyon area was declared a protected part of nature. In this way the rich flora and fauna have been protected, like the lush forest which the path leads you through.
