Fratar

An exceptionally demanding path through rugged terrain with many crags and escarpments.

This path offers all nature lovers a beauty that will take their breath away: at the vantage points of Vidalj and Grleš it offers a view worthy of admiration. Along the path we pass by the Hahlić mountain lodge and along the forested valley Pakleno – incredibly wild, in some places difficult to pass, surrounded by the peaks of Obruč, Pakleno, Osoje, Fratar and Suhi Vrh. From on the outside these peaks have a mostly gentle appearance, whereas towards Pakleno they are rocky and fragmented – a wonder of nature.

Along the path we also pass through Platak – the regional sports, recreation and tourist centre.

Vidalj

The path passes through the wonderful gorge of Mudna dol and the rocks that peer out from the ancient Pakleno forest. At 9 kilometres on the path we arrive at the peak of Vidalj, a beautiful vantage point that offers visitors a splendid view.
At 11 kilometres on the path, we pass by the mountain lodge at Hahlići, the most beautiful mountain lodge in Croatia. The lodge is surrounded by a beautiful forest of spruce and mountain beech trees. From the lodge there extends a lovely view of the Rijeka Bay, the islands, Grobnik and Učka.
With a descent to 400 m from the lodge there are Kalići – three ponds, next to each other, surrounded by dry stone walls, around which you can always see many wild animals.

Obruč

A light walk through the untouched nature of the Grobnik Alps, as though created for the enjoyment of the beauty of nature, is special because it leads over the open slopes with a wonderful view of the whole of the Kvarner Bay and the islands. The area of the footpath is listed in the Ecological Network of the Republic of Croatia and it concerns the conservation of the endemic animal species that you can come across walking on this wonderful trail.
