Trail description
It is possible to cover the circular, approximately 3 km long footpath that passes along many little valleys and sinkholes in an hour’s light walk and it is the ideal for an afternoon’s stroll.
From the village of Milohni the trail leads through a forested area on a cart track towards Kastav. 100 m after the rest area with a table and benches, turning left it leads to the road and offers the possibility of choosing the next direction: right towards Šporova Jama and the town of Kastav or left towards the village of Bezjaki.
If we choose the left direction, we will go along the deepest sinkhole of Kastav ‘Črni dol’. With an easy climb we arrive at the crossroads which offers interesting possibilities: on the left a forest path bordered with impressive dry stone walls takes us back to the village of Milohni, continuing the direction (straight ahead) we can reach Bezjaki, the village with the beauty view of Kvarner from where there is the possibility of heading towards Srdoči, Zamet or the centre of Rijeka, whereas by turning down the right path we can visit the attractive Kapitovac pond, which has been partially restored and set up for visitors.
By choosing any of these directions you get the opportunity to get to know the famous parts of the Kastav area, and, safety guided by the well-marked trails, enjoy the untouched forested areas.
